Bahamas, to which Eleuthera belongs, is a collection of islands, mostly coral reefs, consisting of approximately 700 islands and 2,400 large rock formations. Just off the shallow waters of the coral reefs are sudden deep areas, also known as “tongues of the sea.” These depth differences create complex water currents, and the pure white sand, rich in ooids, creates beautiful patterns and vibrant colors.
